The Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum offers a unique experience, bringing history to life through an innovative approach that focuses on event-based storytelling rather than traditional object displays. It tells the story of Rashtrapati Bhavan through a variety of interactive exhibits, including virtual and augmented reality, video walls, holographic displays, and synchronized sound and light shows.
Covering 11,000 square meters, the museum is constructed underground to preserve the heritage of the structures above. The museum is housed in repurposed historic buildings like The Stables, The Coach House, and The Garages, with each phase showcasing different aspects of India’s presidential history, including gifts received by presidents, artworks, and historical and culturally significant artifacts.
Inaugurated in phases in 2014 and 2016, the museum highlights both the past and present of Rashtrapati Bhavan, offering insights into ceremonial traditions, the diverse flora and fauna of the estate, and its cultural significance. The museum is a celebration of India's democratic heritage, providing an engaging and educational experience for all visitors.
Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, 9:30AM to 5:00PM. Last entry is at 4:00 PM.
