One of the most iconic features of Amrit Udyan, The Circular (‘Pearl’ or Butter Fly’ or ‘Sunken’) Garden is planted with fragrant varieties like Phlox of different colours, Marigold, Stock, Viola 4 and Pansies in different colours, Sweet Willium, Clarkia, Ring of Orange Marigold, Allisum. A bubble fountain in the middle of this bowl, surrounded with greens enhances the grandeur of the place.

The Circular Garden contains more than 30 varieties of seasonal flowers including Dahlias which are around 8 feet high and go along the circular wall of the Garden. Tulips in magnificent colors have been added to enhance the beauty of the Garden.

Circular Garden is arguably one of the most picturesque attractions of Amrit Udyan.

Located in front of the Bal Vatika, this area puts the spotlight on the wide variety of native, rare and seasonal birds found in the President’s Estate in Delhi. Bird lovers can find interesting information about more than 30 species of birds.

Elevating our garden to new heights, a spectacular vertical garden adorned with intricate floral patterns graces our outdoor sanctuary. This living tapestry of nature, meticulously designed and nurtured, transforms a vertical canvas into a vibrant masterpiece. Cascading waves of greenery, punctuated by bursts of colorful blossoms, create a mesmerizing display that captivates the eye. The floral patterns are meticulously composed, weaving a tale of nature's artistry. Each flower seems to dance with the wind, as if participating in a choreographed ballet, bringing life and movement to the vertical expanse.

The vertical garden not only serves as a stunning visual focal point but also contributes to the overall well-being of our space, purifying the air and fostering a sense of tranquility. A 225 year old Sheesham or Indian Rosewood tree stands proud and tall at the newly developed Bal Vatika - a dedicated garden for children. The tree stands witness to the downfall of colonial rule, evolution of Rashtrapati Bhavan and making of today’s India.

Visitors can listen to the story of the tree in its own voice which will fill visitors with pride for India’s history. It also holds a treehouse which is an attractive spot for children and adults alike.

There are more than 85 varieties of seasonal flowers during winters across Amrit Udyan. Amidst such a loaded starcast, a need arises to highlight the showstopper flower of the season. The theme flower chosen for the 2024 edition of Udyan Utsav is Tulip.

This artistically curated garden will display a blend of 18 shades – monochromatic, double tone, early-bloomers, late-bloomers across 18 varieties of Tulips.

They are used in pure beds and in combinations of varying heights to create a pyramid of colours. Various herbaceous annuals and bi-annuals are grown in beds and informal borders. The beds are sited at the edge of lawns or along the pavements. Also, the flowers are massed irregularly with respect to their height and grouped in colour combinations to produce harmonious, natural and pleasing effect. With the majestic Rashtrapati Bhavan at the backdrop, this garden comes off as a landscaping marvel.

Nestled in a serene corner of our landscape, a captivating bonsai garden emerges as a miniature forest, showcasing the artistry and patience of bonsai cultivation. Each meticulously pruned and nurtured tree tells a story of resilience and refinement, their diminutive stature belying the immense character they embody. The carefully curated collection of bonsai trees, with their gnarled trunks and intricately shaped branches, creates a tranquil haven where time seems to slow.

As the sun filters through the delicate foliage, casting dappled shadows on meticulously arranged stones, the bonsai garden becomes a living meditation on the beauty of balance and restraint. This intimate arboreal landscape invites contemplation, offering a profound connection to the essence of nature within a confined yet boundless space. Set up in the President’s Estate in an area that was earlier used as a nursery, the Musical Garden has three large water fountains that demonstrate digital electronics, electromagnetism, hydrodynamics and hydrostatics. The music is digitized and the audio system fed through a computerized programme controller.

Surrounded by a tennis court, bio-diversity park, the Bonsai Garden and the Herbal Garden on all sides, this Musical Garden provides liveliness to the area by breaking its tranquility. One can often spot the national bird enjoying the premises of this garden. The musical fountains perfectly synchronize with classical tunes of shehnai, veena and patriotic songs like Vande Mataram.

Various exhibitions and haats showcasing the diverse culture of India are showcased in and around the Foodcourt. Various ministries and government departments come together to provide avenues to artisans and craftspersons of the country to display their work at the highest platforms of government.

As you exit the food court, the second Nature’s Classroom invites you to be a part of a plethora of ongoing activities. Curated in an artistically planned space with wooden benches, coloured pebbles and Bonsai Garden at the backdrop, this spot is loved by one and all.

Visitors can relax and enjoy the shade of a mighty 200 year old Pilkhan Tree. This attraction is ideal for large groups of students who can participate in activities like painting, slogan making, karaoke etc. which are conducted by a professional team.

The President hosts two grand receptions in the Central Lawns every year, one to mark Republic Day on 26 January and the other on 15 August, India’s Independence Day.

A row of nearly 5000 Dahlias can be seen in between the seasonal flowers on both sides of the Central lawn and Long garden.

Located inside the Bal Vatika - a dedicated garden for children,  Nature’s Classroom is a student activity area that has been built from the remains of a dead tree from the President’s Estate. Nature’s Classroom serves as an ideal spot for a class of students to orient themselves about Amrit Udyan and Rashtrapati Bhavan. Students can also participate in various quizzes, poetry recitals and other activities.

As you exit from the Circular Gardens, a mesmerizing floral clock stands as a testament to the beauty of nature and human creativity. Nestled amidst a vibrant tapestry of blooming flowers, the floral clock is a harmonious fusion of horticulture and horology. Every intricate detail is meticulously crafted, with each hour marked by a unique arrangement of resplendent blossoms.
